ABOUT ME

Lacee Black is a collage fine artist whose curiosity about the world began in childhood, nurtured by a love of history, mythology, and storytelling. She discovered collage in high school, and over time her practice has grown into an exploration of visual texture, print as pattern and color, and the subtle interplay of light and form. Drawing inspiration from storytelling and the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist movements, her work spans still life, portraiture, landscape, and plein air studies, capturing both the beauty and intricacy of everyday life.
She holds degrees in Graphic Design and Illustration from Salt Lake Community College, and her work has been shown regionally and nationally, including the Arizona Aqueous Show (Tubac, AZ, 2016), multiple Salt Lake Community College President’s Art Shows, and several national and online small works exhibitions during the 2025 holiday season. She has also participated in plein air events such as the Wasatch Plein Air Paradise Festival and Sandy Arts Guild Quick Draw competitions.
Her work has received awards including Best in Show (SLCC President’s Art Show, 2021), People’s Choice (Sandy Visual Arts Show, 2025), and multiple placements in plein air competitions, reflecting both her technical skill and her ongoing dedication to capturing the vibrancy and subtlety of the world through collage.
