THOUGHTFULWhen confronted by the gaze of another person, we often wonder what they are thinking, what stories lie behind their eyes. Portraits with direct or near-direct gaze invite this same curiosity. In this piece, the red-haired subject looks subtly toward the viewer from a three-quarter view, her half-closed eyes conveying intimacy and quiet reflection. While her expression offers hints of personality and mood, her thoughts remain a mystery. I wanted to capture that delicate tension between presence and unknowability, creating a small work that draws viewers in to contemplate the depth of human expression.
