RED DESERT SUNSET

The desert landscapes of southern Utah are defined by extraordinary color, texture, and light. Across the region, sandstone formations shift through whites, blush pinks, pale greens, warm oranges, and deep reds, revealing the varied geological character of the land. At sunset, these tones intensify as changing light transforms the landscape into something both dramatic and serene.

In this piece, I wanted to capture that fleeting transition on a small scale, distilling the vastness of the red desert into an intimate moment. The sweeping clouds and glowing horizon reflect the quiet grandeur of a place where earth and sky meet in constant dialogue. Though miniature in size, the work invites close attention to the expansive beauty and subtle wonder of the desert at day’s end.
