ANTHRACOPHYLLUM ARCHERI

The Orange Fan Mushroom, Anthracophyllum archeri, may be small, but it plays a vital role in its ecosystem. Native to New Zealand and Australia, this fungi breaks down dead wood and replenishes nitrogen in the soil, supporting the life of countless other plants and organisms. I was drawn to this mushroom not only for its striking visual form but also as a reminder of how seemingly small things can have a big impact. Just as ecosystems rely on every tiny element to function, this mushroom illustrates the beauty and importance of the small details that sustain the larger whole.
