INTIMATE SCALELight and atmosphere are often what draw me into a landscape—the fleeting moments when clouds, sky, and earth interact to create a sense of place. In this piece, I was captivated by the way the setting sun illuminated the grass beyond the trees, creating a warm glow that contrasted with the cooler tones of the surrounding landscape. The curving gravel path invites the viewer into this quiet moment, leading the eye toward the distant light and the subtle transition between shadow and warmth. Through layered paper collage, I sought to capture not only the physical landscape, but also the feeling of pause and discovery that comes from encountering a familiar place in a new way.
